dvd wrapping machineDVD packaging has become instrumental in the marketing of digital media. With the DVD quickly replacing the CD in the first decade itself of the twenty-first century, the distribution of digital media has entered a new era of versatility. The necessity for DVD packaging is no longer confined to the entertainment industry alone, but also to the software industry. DVDs have replaced CDs in markets worldwide, even on online trading platforms and shopping websites.

DVD storage facilities include mainly two kinds of packing – hard packing in the form of boxes, and soft packing in the form of plastic sheaths. A number of mass storage boxes involve plastic sheaths or envelopes for storing several DVDs in the style of photo albums. DVD Jewel cases, or simply DVD boxes, are the most secure containers available for packaging and transporting DVDs, insuring minimum or no damage to the packaged medium.

The most secure forms of DVD packaging involve hard DVD boxes as the essential component. After all, the best forms of DVD packaging should prevent damage not only to the disk, but also to themselves.

For marketers, DVD packaging is not restricted to jewel cases alone. For expensive or valuable media, several optional packing techniques are available including durable plastic envelopes. The advertising component is also quite crucial. Hence, cardboard boxes or lamination packages are occasionally required for DVD packaging. Regarding this, one must consider the uniqueness of the package for prompt consumer identification, or consumer awareness.

Several manufacturers can be named in the context of DVD packaging. It is not possible to name all of them. Several exponents of the DVD packaging industry include Pro-Action Media, Verano International Ltd., Tinyard Enterprise Co., etc.

Disk printing is another factor that has not been covered above. For CD and DVD publishing and duplication, several machines are available, including the Microtech Xpress. Digital, Tru Photo Finish, Thermal, Offset and Silk Screen are several examples of disk printing techniques for disk duplication and replication.
