Flexible Packaging Equipments and Technology

Flexible packaging is one of most innovative and growing field in packaging industry. Changing market trends and consumer requirements are continuously reshaping the mode of packaging numerous consumer products. Flexible packaging is flexible truly, as it requires regular inception of new technologies in the systems.

Flexible Packaging Materials

Flexible packaging materials have a real, flexible range of applications. There are innumerable consumer items that require safe and systematic packing depending upon the requirements and factors like safety, transportation wear and tear, handling, storage requirements, and the user’s convenience.

Packaging materials commonly include:

• Polyester with poly and foils with various microns
• PVC cloth (Rexene)
• Printed labels of different materials

Rigid PVC films, pet films, Bopp films, LDPE-films. LLDPE-films and PVC stretch films also find their use in flexible packaging, depending upon the requirements. In some packaging works shrink wrapping films, paper and paper products are also very useful.

Flexible Packaging Machineries and Equipments

The application of new technology in flexible packaging is growing exponentially. Likewise, the machineries and equipments used in packaging numerous items make an endless list. Commonly applied technology is under use on machines and equipments like Hot Air Gun, Mirror welding machine, and Profile and sheet welding machines.

There are number of high frequency machines in use. This technique also works with radio frequencies depending upon low and high duty with pressures.

Blister packaging machinery for packaging of various consumer items includes a complete range. Some of these machineries are thermo-foaming, blister sealing, blister trimming, and skin packaging machines.

Plastic squeezer tube sealing machines used for filling and sealing for paste and crèmes. Band sealing and cap sealing machines are of specific importance for tube packaging.

Automatic forming sealing machines are in common use for paper and paper products. Pneumatic and automatic high frequency file and folders machines are also in use.

Plastic coding machines are also in prevalent use. Filling machineries include volumetric weigh fillers, auger fillers and liquid fillers.

Various kinds of ovens, tray dryers, and furnaces are required at various stages of packaging. Industrial and electric heaters are useful in the final stage of packaging.
