There are separate machines employed for the purpose of sealing precious or fluid elements. One process among many is heat sealing, employed by the heat sealer equipments. As the name suggests, it does the work by applying heat as the main component. Good heat sealing depends on some parameters like temperature, time of sealing and pressure applied – and there must be optimum balance depending upon the nature of the material on which heat sealers employ packaging.
Machineries and Technology Employed
There are many types of machinery employed for heat sealing and we discuss some along with their technologies below.
- There is a series of continuous heat sealers, in which moving belts are main equipments in the machine. It is not instantaneous in nature and is applied for some time period to attain good sealing. The moving belts are heated ones and they transfer the heat, which automatically does the sealing work required for packaging.
- Another system of heat sealing technology is employed by impulse heat sealers. Heated elements, normally stationary, are applied to the materials. They are placed in bottom weld styled machines. The process is very common. There is simultaneous fuse and heat sealing from both lower and upper side of the element getting packed.
- There is a specific variety known as pneumatic pedal heating sealer of double-sides or single-side which undergoes pneumatic principle, and uses cylinder as sealing drive.
- Rotating plate heat sealers of high frequency are widely employed for production and packaging of wallets, handbags, trademarks, shoe vamps etc. it normally has three positions and the plate sealing is rotated with extremely high frequency those providing efficient work.
- Heating shrink machines are the kinds of heat sealers, in which the machines used for packaging does shrink the required package of beverages, foodstuffs etc and maintain proper air storage even.
Materials used for Packaging
Jute threads or cloth pieces of small sizes were used as main materials employed by heat sealer packing machines. However in modern times, nylon or cotton threads are used to get things packed.
The impulse heat sealers, for example come in different models having different frills. To adopt with the heat created, there are electronic controls used.
And as mentioned earlier, the continuous heat sealers use heat belts for continuous and suppressing heat sealing. This is typically useful for large volume use.
