This is a unique kind of packaging facility that differs from the rest due to its amazing sturdiness, safety of packing and for the general outlook. There are several items that require strong metal packaging during transportation and shipping. Products like customized or imported chocolates, paints, gift items and soft drinks use metal packaging for effective storage. Metal packaging comes in the form of boxes, special shaped containers, and cans. In tin cans and soft drink cans, the metal can be twisted and the beverage consumed. Again, such containers have a bottom, walls and an opening. There are steel and aluminum cans of various sizes depending upon the requirements such as dairy products and food. Deosprays, cosmetic lotions and even insect repellants use metal packaging.

Materials used for Packaging

1. Tinplate: eco-friendly, easy to emboss and cost effective, tinplate remains one of the preferred materials for metal packaging. It comes as cans, boxes and sheets. It has high strength and is surprisingly light weight. Tin cans are known to keep the sealed food free of germs and moisture.

2. Steel: it is a rust-free and sturdy material used for metal packing. Corrosion resistant steel containers and wraps are available.

3. Aluminum: a very ductile substance manufactured as foils, sheets and cans, aluminum and its alloys offer good packaging options for most needs.

Machineries and Technologies Employed

Opening angle more than 180 degrees

This normal metal packaging technique involves presenting the metal packaging similar to plastic containers with an opening angle around 240 degrees. This must be convenient with automated packing machines as well. Two layers of metal (enclosing an inner non metal substance as foam at times for certain products). Opposing faces of the metal sheets contain the desired object. There are hinges or other attachments that can be removed to access the object within.

There are a variety of high end as well as simple machines and equipments for this purpose. Such maneuvers help to attract the attention of clients. These are used to provide color coatings to the metal packing or print using lithograph technique.

Sealing machines

These are used in order to make the cans airtight. This is also used so that the object is totally protected. There are compressing machineries available to resize the metal containers. The metal sheets can be beaten to provide totally flat and smooth surface.
