Packaging design and branding specialist PI Group has anounced about two new divisions Picu adn Pid8 to complement its exisiting expertise in sturctural packaing and technology, visual branding.
According to PI Group partner Steve Kelsey, the firm had set up the Picu division because it felt many research firms did not fully understand packaging. He said packaging is bit different than advertising or media.
The Pid8 division will focus on “innovation without constraints”.
Mr. Kelsey said, PI focused on individuals having good ideas. Normally PI group have to allow for constraints, for example in production, and that has a limiting factor.
Pid8 will design and develop its own “projective” packaging innovations and will also work for limited clients.
Kelsey said the group saw “enormous potential” from the two divisions. PI plans to hire research planners in the future, as of now the two divisions will be managed by existing directors. The four divisions will work individually and in combination.
